About Me.
|
Animals have always been a part of my life. While pursuing my creative career I supported myself working in the animal care industry for over 10 years. Making art that captures these amazing creatures is an important part of my creative mission. I have spent my career studying animal anatomy, taking courses focusing on animal artwork and spending time in zoos and parks to draw from life. By pursuing pet portraiture I wish to make something special for the people who love their pets. In return, I will continue to support the countless numbers of animals in need.
I hold an MFA from the Academy of Art University in Traditional Illustration as well as a BFA from The University of Illinois. I am well versed in the world of design and have experience creating educational illustration, logo artwork, decorative illustration, private commissions and gallery work. Past clients have included Nomad Press, Palo Alto Humane Society, BooksbyKathe Publishing, Dog Star Resort, LLC, William Sadlier, Inc. Publishing, Sofitel Suites Luxury Hotels, and Dog Bone Alley Pet Boutique. My work has been shown in galleries ranging across the San Francisco Bay Area, Pennsylvania, Chicagoland Area, and Corciano, Italy. You can see more of my traditional illustration work at JenKellerArt.com I currently reside in the Chicagoland area with my animal loving daughter, supportive husband, and our pup, a little rescue Border Collie named Bolt. |
